About Me

You can take the girl from the mountains, but you can’t take the mountains from the girl…

I was born and raised in Edmonton, near the crisp, cool air and vibrant summer colours of the Rocky Mountains. Working with hair has always been my dream – as a little girl, I had the other children in I was always the girl with no hair on my dolls! As an adult, naturally I followed my heart and got my Beautician’s License.

I apprenticed at a progressive local salon, Bianco & Nero, which led to going into business for myself. I opened a wonderful salon in the heart of downtown Edmonton called Classic Cuts, and as the business grew so did my horizons. Soon I was teaching hair classes, hosting educational seminars in advanced techniques, and teaming up with modeling agencies to organize fashion shows. It was fast paced and I loved every minute of it.

It was in this phase of my life that I developed my love of colour, which I now consider my niche when it comes to hair. Colour took special focus not only in my work, but also – then and now – is reflected in my home, my garden, my clothing, and of course my own ever-changing hair colour, from blonde to brunette to redhead, I’m in love with them all.

A new era on the West Coast

All told, I have been in the salon business since 1985. In 1994, I sold my business in Edmonton and journeyed overseas in order to “find myself” (discovering of course, that wherever I went there I was!). Needing a change in scenery upon my return, I settled in Sechelt and began a new chapter of my life.

Education is still my number one priority, and I travel each year in order to upgrade and expand my technical skills and open my mind to new hair care philosophies. I strive to work out of the box while at the same time listening to client’s concerns (because let’s face it, that’s what it’s really about).

Years ago, I never thought this would be the path for me, but I love working in my home studio where I welcome the most wonderful clients every day. The love and passion that I put into my work always rewards me tenfold, and I only hope to spend many more years doing what I’ve always loved. What more could a girl ask for?
